Who we are and what we do

Welcome to Pottery House Signs. My name is Howard Phillips and I make bespoke, hand-made, ceramic plaques at our pottery studio in West Norfolk, UK. Commissions have included house name and number plaques, award presentation plaques, pet memorial plaques, horse name plaques for stables, corporate/office plaques – in fact the plaques are suited for many applications.

Your order can be either placed on the website or customers are very welcome to contact me by email or telephone to discuss ideas. In all cases customer’s conversations are acknowledged by email from me with, if necessary, a graphic mock-up of the plaque requested for approval before making begins.

Plaques have been supplied to such diverse locations as the freezing far north of Canada to the baking Australian outback. The plaques are totally weatherproof and can withstand extremes of temperature. They are made from high-fire stoneware which makes them impervious to whatever nature can throw at them barring earthquakes or eruptions!

Each plaque is made by hand. This one is non-standard, in other words the solid glaze background is swapped for glazed letters. It was made for a customer in St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.
